Jurassic Park is a film based on Michael Crichton's 1990 novel of the same title, and revolves around the cloning of dinosaurs from fossil DNA. The film was released in 1993, and was so successful two sequels were made, The Lost World: Jurassic Park (also based on a Michael Crichton novel) in 1997 and Jurassic Park III  in 2001.

A fourth film Jurassic World, which was set 22 years after the events of Jurassic Park, premiered in 2015. The sequel, titled Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom followed in 2018, with Jurassic World: Dominion completing the trilogy in 2022
